In 1904, Harold Saunders founded the firm. By 1924, D. Granville West joined the firm to serve his articles. Later, in 1929, he established his own practice in Newbridge. In 1943, he took over Harold Saunders" existing practice in Pontypool. After the War, Emrys Chivers became a partner in the firm. The firm then became known as D. Granville West & Chivers. Around 1950, D. Francis Dunford joined the practice, forming D. Granville West, Chivers & Dunford. In 1962, Dunford left the firm to become a judge. In 1966, Ronald E.Y. Morgan returned to the practice as a partner. The practice was then named Granville-West, Chivers & Morgan. The Risca Office was established in 1980, and the Abertillery Office followed in 1987. In the same year, Ron Morgan retired from the practice. Granville-West, Chivers & Morgan has taken over the practice of G. Edward Williams & Son in Blackwood to enhance its presence in the Gwent Valleys.
